After passing the German A Levels in 1999 at the Philipp-Reis-Schule in
Friedrichsdorf, he trained as an insurance salesman at Alte Leipziger, then
worked as an independent businessman and entrepreneur for more than 13 years.
Since 18 September 2015 he is the Lord Mayor of the City of Bad Homburg.
He was active in Bad Homburg municipal politics for almost 20 years. 1996 he joined
the Junge Union, two years later he also became a CDU member. He was active in
both organisations in various board positions. He was elected city councillor
in 2001 and participated in specialist committees and administrative boards. In
2006 he was elected deputy CDU parliamentary group leader, then parliamentary
group leader from 2011 until he took office as mayor.
