What matters in lectures is relevant for leisure time also. That is why the ideals of the accadis-family are also present in the many extracurricular activities, initiatives and events happening all year round. Different sports, festivities, excursions and competitions complement lectures and thus offer an intense and varied university experience. The students are always the focus of any activities, as they are the chief contributors to and creators of student life outside the lecture hall. Whether students join forces as a soccer or a cheerleading team, provide creative essays for the accadis website or organize a Summer Fête with live music, dance show acts and an exclusive location, accadis provides the framework in which students can create and organize rich and enriching extracurricular activities.

Nature, sport and culture – and the Frankfurt financial metropolis just around the corner. As an accadis student, you do not only benefit from practice-related courses and first-class support, but also from the idyllic and central location of your university.

The spa and district town of Bad Homburg is close to the financial metropolis of Frankfurt am Main, where numerous globally active banks and corporations have their headquarters. "Mainhattan" not only attracts potential employers, but also provides a rich cultural scene, many shopping opportunities and the "promenade" on both sides of the Main river. You can also reach the state capital Wiesbaden or the media center Mainz quickly. 

Our university location can look back on a long tradition as a spa and cultural city which ideally combines its rich history with a modern economic structure. With its spa garden, casino, museums and numerous cultural events and festivals, Bad Homburg offers you a high level of recreational value year round. In addition, the immediate proximity to the Taunus Mountains means pure nature right in front of the campus door. The university town is also well positioned in terms of sports, clubs, swimming pools and competition venues.

Parties and festivities have always been part of everyday academic life. Students at accadis are no different, playing host and event manager to stylish, joyful parties every year.

The Summer Fête, organized and hosted by accadis students during the loveliest time of the year, is a chance to celebrate last semester’s successes and to spend a relaxed evening in a beautiful location together with lecturers, staff and the entire accadis-family. In 2014, the initial Summer Fête took place at the Orangerie at Bad Homburg Kurpark. It offered delicious food, refreshing cocktails and excellent entertainment with a band, a DJ and show acts performed by accadis students. Due to its success, this has now become an annual event.

Graduation Ceremony 
Achieving one’s academic goals is a good reason to celebrate. At accadis Hochschule, we are aware of how much graduating means and therefore, we hold a festive celebration at the Bad Homburg Kurhaus with students and faculty every year.

Freshers Party
The first semester at university is a bit like the first day of school. It is exciting, new experiences await everywhere and you get to meet new people every day, who will be joining you through ups and downs during the next three years. The Freshers Party is a chance to get to know people outside the lecture hall, so all the „newbies“ can grow into a community, thereby making every single student feel welcome and at home. 

A guided tour through Frankfurt’s biggest soccer stadium with a look behind the scenes and a short „lecture“ was part of the lecture series „event organization“ in the degree program International Sports Management.

Nike German Headquarters
Often times accadis guest lecturers pursue professional careers, something the International Sports Management students profited from when their lecturer Kilian Breuer, who also works for Nike, visited the German Nike headquarters with his students. Here they were able to observe as what they had just learned was put to practical use in the business of sports apparel sales.

IMEX professional fair
Meeting and incentive travels are a particularly exciting aspect of tourism. Students of accadis were able to talk with leading representatives of the business at the specialized IMEX fair and learn about the latest trends in traveling. 

Students of accadis aren’t just quick thinkers. They are just as swift on the sports field. Everyone who cares about a sense of community and fun is encouraged to join one of the many accadis sports teams. accadis students together practice soccer, hockey, volleyball, cheerleading, handball, track and field and basketball in teams.

Champions Trophy
With repeated success, students of accadis haven been taking part in the Champions Trophy competition organized by Bucerius Law School in Hamburg. In past years, track and field, hockey, volleyball, handball, basketball, soccer and cheerleading teams took part and even took home the trophy in a few categories. 

German Track and Field University Championship
This annual competition offers a platform for track and field enthusiasts from all over Germany and a chance to compete. accadis students have entered the competition successfully before, such as in 2013, when the Championship was held in Frankfurt-Kalbach. 

Well-founded theory is essential for the everyday work of a manager. However, what really sets a person apart is their practical experience that comes with years of working in a special subject area. That is why visiting lecturers with different professional backgrounds bring their experience to accadis in regular talks and lectures.

Walt Disney did not just invent Micky Mouse and Donald Duck, he also founded a global entertainment corporation. Juliane Husemann, Co-Production and Acquisition Manager at Disney Germany, presented the company and explained its ongoing success in film and television, but also with theme parks and merchandising. How important is the „story“ to the success of a film? How much of said success is really based on secondary factors like marketing? The professional film maker knows the answers and allowed students to peak behind the curtains of decisions-making processes at big film companies.
