Following my undergraduate studies and PhD at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt, I worked in different capacities for pharmaceutical and electronic tools companies as well as for an advertisement agency. Since 1992, I have been teaching marketing and innovation management at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. From 2000 to 2005, I founded and ran the institute of entrepreneurship there and have also held the post of director of the ITB Institute for Innovation, Transfer and Consultancy gGmbH from 2002 to 2020. The ITB Institute deals with the transfer of technology and knowledge between three universities and companies of different industries.
As initiator of the European University Network COEUR (Competence in European Entrepreneurship) and in various other capacities at home and abroad, internationality as well as an entrepreneurial component to tertiary education are of special importance to me. I have experienced the value of pushing and crossing boundaries to achieve change again and again in my personal evolution and I think that public and private universities have much to learn from one another with regard to it. I am glad to try and be a part of that process.
