Trimester vs Semester

At accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg you will study in 20 ECTS-trimesters/terms instead of 30 ECTS-semesters. A trimester is of 10 weeks‘ duration.

Each trimester is followed by an examination phase with written examinations, presentations or assignments. This is when you will appreciate the advantage of our trimester-based system. The academic content you need to review is less extensive, and you can therefore be more focused when studying for examinations.

You need 30 ECTS? A higher workload beyond 20 ECTS is possible on an individual basis. For students wishing to spend a fall trimester at accadis, special arrangements can be made to allow you to obtain 30 ECTS vs the usual 20 ECTS through an extended trimester. With the 10 ECTS-course ‚Consulting and Research Project‘ (in English or German) both undergraduate and graduate students can choose to begin the trimester in online format in September.
