Extraordinary educational programs
Once again, accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg is living up to its motto "one step ahead". In addition to its management-students in the Bachelor's and Master's programs, the renowned educational institution welcomes three new degree groups for the start of studies in October 2021: Pilots, future childhood educators, and founders who would like to advance a start-up idea during their studies. Once again, the Meinl-Kexel family demonstrates its pioneering spirit in education.
International spirit in Bad Homburg
In addition to the three new academic groups, accadis Hochschule is pleased to welcome six young and inspiring students from Colombia, China, India, Iran, Mexico and South Korea to the Master's programs in Global Business Management, Digital Business Strategy, International Health Care Management and Brand and Luxury Goods Marketing.
Pilots qualify for management positions
The idea of qualifying pilots for management positions in an MBA program tailored to them came to company successor Prof. Dr. Christoph Kexel during the course of last year. "In a news report, I learned that pilot training is not considered professional training in Germany. That surprised me. I can perfectly understand the pilots' concern about their professional future during the Corona crisis." As a result, he and university President Prof. Dr. Florian Pfeffel developed the MBA program for pilots. On Saturday, 18 of them began their second professional career in Bad Homburg.
Future educators get fit for the education of tomorrow
It is obvious that accadis University of Applied Sciences is expanding to include the field of pedagogy. The basis for this was already formed by the founding of accadis International School Bad Homburg in 2004. "In the new area of study Education, our expertise in teaching meets in-depth pedagogical knowledge," says founder Gerda Meinl-Kexel. The new Bachelor's program in Childhood Pedagogy and Multilingual Education is characterized by a combination of high-quality academic studies and intensive practical insights that is exceptional in the field. The Head of Studies, Dr. Susanne Mannel, has developed the compelling program and is looking forward to the lectures with the first eleven future childhood educators.
Founders hone business ideas during their studies
The Building Entrepreneurs! program, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund, is the logical development of the accadis Institute of Entrepreneurship, which has already been cooperating with the Bad Homburg start-up initiative groundr e. V. for several years. "You can't get enough support as a founder*," confirms Gerda Meinl-Kexel, who herself faced this challenging task forty years ago. "Back then, there was neither the TV show Dragon's Den nor Business Angels. I am all the more proud that we now support students with start-up ambitions." Program Manager Dr. Markus Ahlborn emphasizes that founding and studying at the same time is usually not possible. "At accadis Hochschule, it is now feasible, as students replace exams with business concepts for example, and our coaches supervise them intensively." In the coming week, the first founders will move into the new coworking space at accadis Hochschule.
The educational pioneers at Bad Homburg's Südcampus are looking forward to the new academic year and to welcoming their students back into classes on site. This is possible again thanks to the extremely high vaccination rate among students and lecturers as well as a well thought-out hygiene concept.
