First-hand Experience in A Real Estate Company
The internship was an excellent learning experience in my accadis life. Both the process of searching - and finding - an internship in Germany as an international student as well as three months of working experience during the pandemic provided me with multiple learnings and I am thrilled to have had this opportunity to challenge myself.
Company highlights-Transformation under the pandemic
This winter semester, I was glad to be one of the members of a small-sized Chinese real estate company named KBC (Kulturbrücke China) Immobilien, which has provided rental services for many students for over a decade. Currently, KBC is transforming its business from rental services to purchasing and selling properties and focusing on digital marketing to expand its brand awareness. I realized that was an excellent opportunity because it could be the best prerequisite for learning - to combine theories with real-life implementation. After all, the strategic change transformed the established company back to a start-up.
My daily work schedules
I would always think about what I would do if I were the manager in the internship process. In my job I was able to learn about the entire business process from Marketing items, like copywriting about the real estate, to designing the company’s posters, labels, company signage, to video editing and promoting videos in Chinese and foreign social media platforms. Besides, consulting several affairs with renters like deposit refund, rent, etc., were part of my daily routines. Moreover, some accounting assistance was included, such as auditing bills.
Lecture contents in practical applications
I am glad I could use the knowledge in practice that I learned from accadis like Digital marketing, Innovative Marketing, Strategy and Business Fundamental, Applied Global Marketing, etc. I was able to contribute some innovative ideas to promote the company’s development. In addition, the initial grasp of some marketing and management concepts from these courses is also helpful for future career planning.
My Highlights
I went from knowing nothing about the real estate industry to being generally familiar with the real estate business, giving me an unforgettable and invaluable experience . Besides, having a stage to put what I learned into practice was one of the highlights of my internship. I am also trying to consider whether to complete my master's thesis on the real estate industry or small and medium-sized enterprises. So, I want to say if you are interested in an industry, you should actively try it out.
I am looking forward to more challenges in the future.
