#RoadToTomorrow

trining in germany

510.1 trillion m² and still the world remains such a small place. At the huge and incredible event, WKU World (World Kickboxing Karate Union) championship 2018 in Athens Greece, I met accadis lecturer Professor Dr. Yvonne Thorhauer. We are both passionate kickboxers, coming from divergent nations, sharing the same passion!

Getting to know accadis Hochschule through kickboxing

As fighters from all over the world, we vary greatly, although the common love for this sport unites us and turns us from opponents to friends and family. While discussing the future with the talented Professor Dr. Yvonne Thorhauer, she mentioned her career as a professor at the promising accadis Hochschule and highly recommended that I pursue my Master’s degree there. The university is private and highly rated in Germany.

Remarkably recommended

accadis Hochschule is situated in the very fancy city Bad Homburg, and is close to Frankfurt am Main with an excellen public transport infrastructure. Not to forget the free public transportation for accadis students throughout the state of Hessia. Moreover, when I checked, the reviews were rated 4.2 out 5! Remarkably recommended. They offer a wide variety of subjects in their programs and their degrees are internationally recognized.

Supportive service from the International Office

The best thing comes at the end: “A highly successful ratio of recruitment after graduation.” accadis students are usually sought after by renowned companies like Siemens, Peugeot, etc. I was convinced that I should give it a try. Starting with the application process, the International Office provided a very supportive service. You can ask them anything, and they answer promptly with much information in hand. That drew my attention to the fact of just how personally focused this university is. Students are not the sum of their monthly tuition, but rather special individuals with skills and opportunities they believe they can foster, and so they deliver!

I enjoyed a pleasant interviewed by the President, Professor Dr. Florian Pfeffel, and after presenting all my documents, I finally got enrolled. The next step was to move to a new country, new home, new university, new job, new rules, new language, and new people. That all seems very much when going at it alone, but again the International Office was there the whole way. They provided a detailed handbook showing from where to start, what to do, where and how. They sent me rental offers to find a suitable apartment, they supported my visa application and simply made the whole process very smooth.

First day, first lecture

On my way to the first day, excited yet nervous about this fresh start, I didn’t know what to expect. I appreciated that the professors showed a high level of intellect and knowledge. They clearly delivered the information and had no problem to explain as much as it took to make sure that every single student had understood. They prepared the lectures for the upcoming courses and they made us feel comfortable.

Campus and students

The students, which come from many different cultures, are so friendly and likeable. Although we are all so different, we quickly became friends. The campus is quiet, relaxing, and of hight standard. accadis Hochschule also makes sure that there is time for extra curricular activities and social gathering for everyone! At the end of my first day, I walked down the sidewalks leaving the campus, the astonishing greenery surrounding accadis Hochschule, and all I could think about was how lucky I am. All I can see is the promising future, the many valuable friendships, the endless opportunities, “The road to tomorrow”.
