My Way to accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg

It all started with one aim: I’m going to study in Germany. And from there the research began in detail. I looked for a Master in Marketing in Germany in English and with no surprise I got 3.480.000 results. But it does not end there, I had to find a university that accepted my engineering background and finally a university that suited my profile. But what is my profile?

A profile is somewhat a specific term for a story about a person. And my story in a certain way has to do with leadership on a daily basis. I have already taken part in two exchanges in Germany before. In this connection my parents expected me to learn, and I learned not only to be an independent person, but also to get to know myself. Leadership starts with oneself and understanding how your actions affect everyone that surrounds you. Therefore, the first two characteristics I was looking for while looking for a university were: “international” and “leadership”.

Additionally, I do believe that theory and practice belong together. Therefore, I was not only looking for a university, but also for a job. Germany is well known for its bureaucratic processes and for the HR response time. For these reasons, I started looking for a position 5 months before I even started college. To work in Germany you need two things: effective communication, not matter what the language, and being able to make people aware that German is not your mother tongue so that grammatical errors do not appear as incompetence but as part of a learning process. In the end that is the way how I got a job with Danone Milupa Nutricia. Therefore, the university I was looking for had to offer me a focus on business.

Finally, the level. When a challenge is seen as motivation, the result is valued more. From the start, I knew that neither of the two languages which I would speak in Germany would be my mother tongue. I therefore needed an even greater challenge that could help me grow both personally and professionally.

In conclusion, my profile turned out to be international experience with business leadership looking for a challenge and always with a view towards the future. That is the reason why I chose accadis. For me the most attractive lectures that the university offers have been Global Strategy and Online Marketing. Two unavoidable Macro Trends that affect all our daily actions and help us to understand the ‘why’ of current customer behavior.
