top level start up development

With Gründungsradar 2020 (Start-up Radar 2020), the Stifterverband (German Start-up Association) for the fifth time has assessed the start-up culture at universities in Germany. The result: accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg - with its exemplary start-up development program - is among the top 10 universities in its category.

According to the results of Gründerradar 2020, universities in Germany have established a vibrant start-up culture in recent years, with not only start-up activity increasing, but also the number of universities with active start-up support. The Stifterverband - funded by the Marga and Kurt Möllgaard Foundation and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy - has been surveying the start-up culture at university locations in Germany since 2012. "The award for accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg shows that a lot can be done for the start-up culture with investments and regional commitment," says Prof. Dr. Florian Pfeffel, President of accadis Hochschule.

Bad Homburg: A regional ecosystem for entrepreneurs

In Bad Homburg, the start-up culture is promoted by the groundr start-up and entrepreneurial center. "The mission of the association is to strengthen the contribution of the next generation of new entrepreneurs to Bad Homburg as a business location, thus making Bad Homburg even more attractive as a location for new businesses and start-ups and promoting qualified employment," elaborates Jens Klemann, founding partner of the initiative. In addition, groundr - in cooperation with the city of Bad Homburg and the Taunus Sparkasse - supports and finances the accadis Institute of Entrepreneurship and thus contributes significantly to the success of the start-up development program at accadis Hochschule.

Building Entrepreneurs! - Start-up assistance at its best!

With the Building Entrepreneurs! program, accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg combines both academic studies and business start-up. "This innovative program goes far beyond traditional start-up support," elaborates Dr. Andreas Walkenhorst, Head of accadis Institute of Entrepreneurship. "The development and realization of a business idea thus becomes an integral part of the studies." Through the Building Entrepreneurs! program - which is supported by the state of Hesse and the European Regional Development Fund - further innovation potential will be tapped at the university location Bad Homburg and will contribute to the developments and innovation activities of the region.
